Bishop Woman Dies At Home Yesterday After Long Illness

Funeral services for Mrs. J.H. Barnett, 31, who died at her home in Bishop late Tuesday night, will be held Thursday afternoon at the Bishop Baptist church with Rev. Newton Saye, of the East Athens Baptist church, serving as officiating minister. The services will begin at 3 o’clock.

Interment will follow in the Bearden cemetery with McDorman-Bridges in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be G.A. Holcomb, L.E. Saxon, H.M. Kennimer, Victor Kennimer, E.T. Hardigree and H.L. Hardigree.

Survivors of the deceased are her husband, J.H. Barnett; two daughters, Evelyn and Hazel Barnett; a son eDan (sic) Barnett; two sisters, Mrs. J.D. McAlister, of Eatonton and Miss Thelma Hinesley of Bishop; and two brothers, F.W. Hinesiley (sic), of Bishop and H.E. Hinesley, of Newark, N.J.

Mrs. Barnett, who had been ill for the past seven weeks, had lived in Oconee county all her life, and was a member of the Baptist church. Before her marriage, she was Miss Dori sHinesley (sic), daughter of the late Mrs. Evie Maxey Hinesley and A.W. Hinesley. She was one of the most beloved matrons of Oconee county.
