Mr. H.E. Thomas Answers Final Call
Mr. Henry Edward Thomas, aged 50 years, successful Oconee farmer and citizen, died at the home of his mother, Mrs. Sallie Thomas, on the Watson Spring road, Thursday morning, July 15th, after an illness of many months.
The funeral was held last Friday morning at ten o’clock, conducted by Rev. E.L. Shelnutt of Winder, in cemetery by the side of his father, terment following in the Willoughby Mr. John Thomas (sic). The following nephews of the deceased acted as pallbearer: A.H. Thomas, B.A. Thomas, H.K. Thomas, C.O. Huff, Marvin Thomas and James Thomas.
Surviving Mr. Thomas, besides his wife and a son, are two brothers, W.J. Thomas, of Bishop, and J.B. Thomas of Walton County; two sisters, Mrs. W.D. Thomas of Easley, S.C., and Miss Mary Mary Thomas who is with her mother and brother, besides a large family connection which has always been prominent in the county.
Mr. Thomas was born in Oconee and had always made his home here, belonging to the Christian church and active in all of its work. We extend sincerest sympathy to bereaved ones.
