J.W.N. Lanier Dies At White Plains

Mr. J.W.N. Lanier, who for more than twenty years, was a citizen of this county, passed away at his home at White Plains, on Sunday night January 29th.

Mr. Lanier was well known in this section and was held high in the esteem of his friends, always living for the betterment of his community.

Mr. Lanier was 80 years old and had been in fair health until a few days before his death. He is survived by one son, Mr. Henry Lanier; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services and interment were at the old Elder cemetery on the Schull Shoals road on Tuesday afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. Shelnutt.
