Jelly Barnett

Watkinsville - James H. "Jelly" Barnett, 82, of 3290 Colham Ferry Road, died Friday, Nov. 11.

Mr. Barnett, a lifelong resident of Oconee County, was a Methodist.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at Bernstein Funeral Home. Dr. O.C. Dean and the Rev. Paul Berkeypile will officiate and burial will be in Bearden Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dennis McKenzie, Bob Cristain, Allen Ostein, Charles Halcomb (sic), Douglas Berryman and Nathen Carruth.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel M. Barnett, Watkinsville; a daughter, Dorothy Hazel Sims, Arnoldsville; a sister, Lena Holcomb, Bishop; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family is at the residence.

Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
