Lawton T. Lord Dies
In Hospital Here;
Services Wednesday

Lawton T. Lord, High Shoals, died in a local hospital Sunday at 1 p.m. after an illness of eight weeks. Mr. Lord was 50 years old.

Services are to be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from Union Christian church near Watkinsville. The Rev. C.M. Driskell, pastor of the church and The Rev. D.M. Joiner pastor of Watkinsville Christian church officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Church cemetery. Clyde McDorman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Surviving Mr. Lord is his wife, Mrs. Pearl Lord, High Shoals, two daughters, Misses Bernice and Vivian Lord, both of Augusta; three sons, Robert Elmer Lord, Sheppard Field, Texas, and William Thomas Lord and Henry C. Lord, both of High Shoals; mother, Mrs. S.T. Lord, High Shoals; three sisers (sic), Mrs. A.J. Conwell, Hull, Mrs. C.J. Jackson, Greenville, S.C., and Mrs. D.J. Bryant, Colbert; three brothers, E.W. Lord, High Shoals, O.E. Lord, Watkinsville, and Mr. I.L. Lord, Athens.

A native of Banks county, Mr. Lord had resided in Oconee county for the past thiry-five (sic) years. He was a member of the Christian church and had always taken an active interest in the affairs of his church and in civic endeavors until his recent illness. He had a large circle of friends in Oconee and surrounding counties who will be grieved to learn of his death.
