Services On Tuesday
Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Doster, well known resident of Watkinsville, died in an Athens hospital Monday morning at 2:15 o'clock. Mrs. Doster was 68 years old and had been ill for the past week. She was the wife of George W. Doster.
Services are to be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from Watkinsville Methodist church. The Rev. Henry Walker, pastor of Comer Methodist church and The Rev. Frank Jenkins, Watkinsville pasor (sic) officiating.
Burial will be in Prospect cemetery in Jackson county. Clyde McDorman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be D.E. Weatherford, L.E. Weatherford, H.M. Kenimer, R.M. Nicholson, A.Y. Crowley and A.E. Porter.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Doster is survived by two daughters Mrs. H.P Lester, Charleston, S.C., and Mrs. Dave Weatherford, Watkinsville; son H.P. Doster, Athens; step-mother, Mrs. A.T. Hale, Atlanta; three sisters, Mrs. P.J. Whitehead, Decatur, Miss Louise Hale and Mrs. William Deupree, both of Atlanta; six brothers . Paul Hale, Ed Hale and Fred Hale, all of Athens, and fourteen grandchildren.
A resident of Oconee county since 1917, Mrs. Doster was one of Oconee county's best loved women. She was a member of Bishop Methodist church and had many friends throughout this section who will be saddened by news of her passing.
