Sad Death of Popular Bishop Lady on Monday Night

Mrs. Frances Lay Kenimer, beloved wife of Mr. Montgomery Kenimer, son of Dr. and Mrs. E.H. Kenimer, died at an Athens hospital last Monday night at 7:45 after an illness of brief duration. Funeral services were held from Bishop Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, at 5 o’clock, Rev. B.P. Read, of Athens conducting the last sad rites, interment following in Bishop cemetery.

Besides her grief-crushed young husband, Mrs. Kenimer is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James F. Lay; two brothers, James and Harold Lay; two sisters, Misses Mariette and Elsie Lay, all of Bishop; grandmother, Mrs. Lizzie Lay, and grandfather, Mr. William Graves of near Farmington.

The pallbearers were Mell bell, Thomas Porter, Rylee Huff, Charlie Huff, James Graves and Robert E. Branch, Jr. Mrs. Kenimer was a consistent, loyal member of the Methodist church, and her noble character had endeared her to all. Her loved ones and thousands of friends are grief stricken at her untimely going away and it his hard to realize that one so young has been so suddenly snatched from them, but some sweet day we will understand and present sorrows will be forgotten in the glad reunion in that world never ending, where pain and sorrow in unknown.

Our heart’s tenderest sympathy is extended sorrowing loved ones and friends in their hour of sadness.
