Phineas M. Stewart Pension
Georgia, Clarke County
Sarah E. Stewart personally before me on oath says that she was the wife
and is now the widow of Phineas M. Stewart, late of Company "C" 44th Reg,
Georgia Volunteers who was wounded at the battle of Ellysons (sic) Mill
near Richmond Virginia on 26th day of June 1862 and died of his wounds in
Richmond on 4th day of July 1862 and that there is no other person entitled
to claim the arrears of pay and commutation money due said Phineas M. Stewart
by the Government of the Confederate States of America. Sworn to and subscribed
before me the 16th day of August, 1862

William Wood and Elizabeth J. Royster personally before me on oath say that they knew the above affiant Sarah E. Stewart and know her as the wife, and now know her as the widow of the above named Phineas M. Stewart, and that there is no other person entitled to claim the amount of pay and commutation money due the late Phineas M. Stewart and that they are disinterested witnesses. etc. etc.
